SEATTLE - A study found there are more than 150 companies in the Seattle area creating electronic games for video consoles, PCs, hand-held devices and cell phones.
The study says the companies provide more than 15,000 jobs, and game developers have an average salary of nearly $78,000.
A preview of the study was released Friday by the enterpriseSeattle economic development partnership that commissioned the work by Seattle's Community Attributes.
Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels proclaimes Friday Video Game Industry Day to acknowledge the World Cyber Games 2007 Grand Final at the Qwest Field Events Center.
