King County Washington is located in the northwest corner of the United States in the heart of the Puget Sound region.
- It is home to the 13th largest metropolitan area in the country, the 12th most populous county in the United States, and home to 1.7 million people living in its 39 cities.
- The varied topography rises from sea-level to 6,270 feet. The to the west is Puget Sound and to the east are the Cascade mountains.
- Seattle is the county seat and enjoys its close proximity to the Canadian border 100 miles north. It is 165 miles north of the Oregon border.
