Purchasing managers in Western Washington are less optimistic about the future, a July study shows.

Jones Soda Co. reported a second-quarter loss of $2.7 million, or a loss of 10 cents a share, which compares with earnings of $40,700, or nothing per share a year earlier. (JSDA)

Eddie Bauer cuts Q2 loss
Eddie Bauer Holdings Inc. said second-quarter total revenues increased to $233 million from $227 million a year earlier and the company cut its loss to $100,000, or nothing per share, from a loss of $22.2 million, or a loss of 73 cents per share in 2007. (EBHI)

Arbitrator rules Alaska Airlines violated union contract
When Alaska Airlines fired union baggage handlers and other unionized ramp-service employees at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and outsourced their jobs to a nonunion service provider in May 2005, it violated a union contract, according to ruling by an arbitrator. (ALK)
